if the deal closes today as planned, Herman Miller will acquire Maharam.  This should be a great pairing.  Both firms have a strong design heritage and both are innovative and known for highly visual products.  Interior Design magazine has the scoop.

At the NeoCon show in June in Chicago Steelcase will introduce a long-awaited task chair.  The Gesture chair is being designed to support workers increasingly dependent on new office technologies such as tablets and smart phones.  We look forward to seeing it and trying it out.

Google’s New York City offices feature amazing perks and cool nooks and crannies.  But they all are designed to advance Google’s performance.  Per Googler Ben Waber “Physical space is the biggest lever to encourage collaboration.”  Read more and see photos in this New York Times article.
